University of Sussex new £17.8 million academic building

The University of Sussex, based in Brighton, appointed Morgan Sindall to design and build a new £17.8 million academic building, of which Lauren Lloyd was awarded the £1.6 million contract for electrical works.

The new 8,000m² facility will house the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, and the School of Business, Management and Economics, making it the biggest lecture theatre on the University Campus at Falmer, with part of the electrical works to include voice/data transmission installation and cabling and containment for AV systems to the lecture theatres and seminar rooms.

Work started in October 2011 and everything is on schedule for completion in March 2012.
